FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ICOM INTRODUCES THE NEW IC-R72 HF COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVER
JANUARY 19, 1990
ICOM's expertise in designing and producing advanced communica-
tions receivers continues to grow with the IC-R72. The worldwide
acclaim given to the IC-R71A sets precedence for the IC-R72.
* Compact . Measuring only 9.5"W x 3.7"H x 9.0"D the IC-R72 is
compact and loaded with the most asked for features.
* All Mode . The IC-R72 continuously covers 100kHz-30MHz in
SSB, AM and CW modes with high sensitivity. FM mode receiving is
also available by adding an optional UI-8 FM Receiver Unit.
* 100 dB Dynamic Range . The IC-R72 boasts 100 dB dynamic
range of superior receiver circuits. Receive a desired station's
signal clearly even through strong signals from nearby broadcast-
ing stations.
* DDS System . The PLL circuits in the IC-R72 are equipped
with ICOM's advanced DDS system for very fast lockup times. The
same system that has made the state-of-the-art IC-781 and IC-
R9000 so popular with serious operators everywhere.
* 101 Memory Channels . The IC-R72 is equipped with 99 con-
venient memory channels, plus 2 independent scan edge memory
channels. Operating frequency and mode can be stored into any
memory channel.
Other convenient features of the IC-R72 include the built-in RF
attenuator and preamplifier, a noise blanker, ICOM's CI-V system,
built-in clock with timer function plus multiple scan functions.
The new IC-R72 will be available March, 1990.
